Home of the Tuckertown "Bandits" the Tuckertown Fire Department has been serving the Town of South Kingstown in fire protection and emergencies since 1978. Tuckertown Fire Department is one of 8 fire stations that make up the Union Fire District.
We are a 100% volunteer department and we are always looking for new members. Junior Membership at age 16 with Full Membership beginning at age 18. There are opportunities to volunteer on scheduled duty—day, night, and weekend shifts. Learn More

Home of the Tuckertown “Bandits” the Tuckertown Fire Department has been serving the Town of South Kingstown in fire protection and emergencies since 1978. Tuckertown Fire Department is one of 8 fire stations that make up the Union Fire District. The Union Fire District helps protect the 57.1 square miles that is the Town of South Kingstown. Station 8 plays not only a crucial role in structural firefighting operations, but is also a strong force in brush fire operations.
We are committed to providing the best possible service to our community and we need your help to do it. As a volunteer firefighter, you will have the opportunity to serve your community, develop valuable skills, and make a positive impact in the lives of others.
As a volunteer firefighter, there are no costs involved for you. All training and equipment is provided by the department. We understand that not everyone is comfortable with heights or certain tasks, but we have a job for everyone. We have different roles in the department such as administrative, driver, and more. We are looking for anyone who is above 16 years old and has a desire to help their community.
Joining Tuckertown Fire Department is a great step for anyone who is looking to get into a career in firefighting. We have strong relationships with other fire departments in the area. By volunteering with us, you will gain valuable experience and training that will help you stand out when applying for paid positions in other departments.
